A few shots from a failed sunrise outing.

Vern and I went out this morning and had high hopes for a great sunrise….it didn’t happen… no color, no good soft light, and Vern fell through the snow into the water and his feet froze.  I took a few shots with the D3…I was in the mood to shoot 6×6 black and white film, but all I had was my digital camera and a 4×5 and it was 20 degrees and I just couldn’t set up the 4×5 — maybe tomorrow…

Second time out with the 8×10 Camera

Vernon Wiley and I went out for some sunrise photos this morning and I brought an 8×10 field camera. This is the second time I’ve shot it and so far I love it.  I processed the negatives in trays this afternoon and they came out pretty good.  I made a scan of the shot and I’ll be working on the print next month.  I think this one will start out at 16×20 because the negative is so large.  I shot a color version, but I’ll have to send that one off to get developed.  Check it out:
