sonia + wayne

I met Sonia and Wayne this past winter when we were lucky enough to schedule our engagement session right after a snowstorm…that was just the beginning of serendipitous weather for us:)

The wedding day started out with some clouds building over Tahoe and I knew we were going to have some good light in the evening.  Tjaye and I met Sonia at the Embassy Suites in South Lake where the traditional Indian ceremony was going to happen in the atrium.  Indian ceremonies are some of the best wedding ceremonies to photograph–this one was especially amazing because Sonia and Wayne are…well…amazing!  We then had a Chinese ceremony during lunch and then moved to the MS Dixie II for a more traditional Western ceremony out on Lake Tahoe.  The clouds kept building and building and then it rained and hailed and then the sun poked out right before it went down over the mountains–the light doesn’t get any better than that.

This was truly a  multi-cultural and multi-ceremonial day–Beautiful, just beautiful!

Thank you guys so much–we were honored to be there.

Here’s a sneak peek…

brandon + liz

TJaye and I met Brandon and Liz last year and we went out for a hike to do some engagement photos near Brandon’s family cabin in Christmas Valley.  The late spring this season left us with more green than usual for their awesome wedding at the family cabin.  We then moved to the Tahoe Paradise for their intimate reception on Lake Tahoe.

Here’s a couple photos:

natalie + renee’ — edgewood

Two of the most beautiful people in the world.  TJaye and I were witness to so much love and connection last weekend.   We met Nat and Renee’ in the early spring and made some family/engagement photos and then they made their way up to Tahoe to have their ceremony at the end of July.  If I could just describe the whole thing in one word, it would be:  Wow.  We’ve made some life-long friends once again:)

Thank you guys so much for having us photograph you — here’s a couple of our favorites:

A day off…

Yesterday, Riley and I took a lightning trip to Tuolemne Meadows to run out and climb Matthes Crest.  11 miles round trip hike with a one mile long climb.  This was Riley’s first back country peak.  Of course we toted cameras along just for fun.  Here’s a few shots–my legs are a little tired:)

naomi + john

I met Naomi and John last summer and we met for an engagement session up at Lake Alpine–where they have a cabin in the woods.  The week of the wedding, Naomi surprised John with a hot air balloon ride out in Fernley, Nevada.  Riley and I went out to make some photographs and got a lucky ride in the balloon and made some fun photos and some video of our crash landing.  Two days later, TJaye and I got to photograph their wedding at Round Hill Pines.  These two are beautiful!
