We are Matt + Tara and we live in the Lake Tahoe area along with our daughter Zoe and dog Belle. We love photographing weddings all over the country and beyond. Matt:

My photography career started in Yosemite in 1995. I was climbing a route on El Capitan and I had brought an SLR camera with me. My partner and I spent 3 nights on the rock and I realized that I had to document this experience for my "non-climber" friends and family to see. From that day forward, photography became part of my lifestyle. I traveled around the country for the next 10 years or so living in my Volkswagen Westfalia and photographing my climbing adventures and doing occasional editorial work. Eventually I landed back in my home territory of Lake Tahoe and went to school to receive a BFA in photography. I worked at the University of Nevada, Reno for three years managing various stock photography projects and collaborating on two books. One of which, I did the principle photography for. From 2004-2006 myself and two other artists owned a gallery dedicated to the photographic medium. In 2006 my focus led me away from the gallery and into wedding photography as the digital revolution had finally arrived. My wife Tara and I were married in 2009 and our baby Zoe was born on Dec. 6th 2010. We live and play in the Tahoe area and love photographing weddings all over the country--and of course in our backyard :)

Tara:

My grandfather had always been a photographer and I grew up around a camera in upstate New York. Photography took a back seat when I went to college at University of Florida to run competitively. After my undergrad studies in Florida, I moved out west to Tucson, AZ where I went to grad school and where I became more interested in photography--the desert landscape was an inspiration! My grandfather sent me his camera and I was hooked.
